Cade is a hard worker, his life has never been easy, and is content with a place to stay and a job to do. He is young but he is competent in his career. Never one to make trouble, that doesn't mean he will let himself be pushed around or taken advantage of. He owns guns, like all cowpokes, but he is not an expert with them.

Cade is normally pleasant, easy to get along with. Uneducated, he has at the least managed to have been taught how to write his name. He cannot however read. Early years for him had always been a life of work on the farm then on the ranch so he never attended any school.

1859 -  Born to farm family in Minnesota

1864 -  Father killed in the War Between the States

1866-   Mother loses the farm and then commits suicide, leaving behind 3 children.  Distant relatives willing to take Cade since he was a boy and

            useful for labor on their ranch in Dakota.

1874-    Tired of working for a harsh uncle who pays him nothing, Cade leaves and heads further west. He now is a fine horseman, knows cattle.

1876-    Cade shows up in Kalispell after after being laid off after a successful cattle drive. He has heard of a new spread, the Rockin P, and has

             decided to try his luck landing a job at that ranch.
