The Crew is
Miners, surface men, trammers, muckers, timbermen, and blacksmiths -- that's what they were. This is the leadership group of men experienced in Mining. Franklin Fortner and Hiram Priest recruited them when on a trip Missouri.
These are a rough bunch of characters.
