"Never does no harm ta come in an' take a look around at what's there," Addy agreed, "an' Klaispell's growin' fast, gonna be all civilized in no time, 'cept it's far enough away from most anything ta get too big fer its britches!"
She laughed and shook her head. "'Course, th' railroad might change that some, but like as not'll bring more chances fer more business. I know fer me, folks'll be orderin' more from back East, but they'll need a way ta get it from th' depot ta home or wherever, an' that'll be good fer me."
She wasn't sure if the stage line would survive, but still, in this territory, there were dozens of small towns that would need transportation from Kalispell, and back.
"Can't say I'm so keen on Kalispell gettin' too big, but there's always other places, should it come ta it."
Oh without a doubt, the railroad will do you you a world of good. All of us for that matter. And yes, people will be ordering more not just from back east, but anywhere the tack runs past, and some places it don't." Alice said. "Progress I guess is what they call it. Trains aren't new, not by a long shot, but trains running through Montana, that is new and Kalispell for one, will benefit from it."
"Now about this Speed Guyer, I'll be riding into town maybe tomorrow or the the day after and see just what he has to say for himself. Providing, of course nothing intervenes with that plan, and if so, you can bet your bottom dollar, he and I are about to have a conversation about he and I. No sense playing pretend about it." At that she smiled.

"That's th' way ta do it...right to th' point. Hedgin' an' beatin' 'round th' bush only takes up time an' leads ta misunderstandin's." Sometimes, diplomacy was overrated!
"If ya need a place, look fer me at th' Millegan Stage barn, or th' house on Oak Street, has a little fence around it that oughta be white, but's more grey, an' a sad little bird house tacked ta a post out front."
She stood, smiling. "Best I get back now, gotta get th' horses an' rig put up. Look forward ta seenin' ya again."
"It's been a rel pleasure, Addy. See you again, and soon!" She walked out with the teamster, watched her climb aboard the wagon, take up the reins and with a snap, she began to turn around for the trip back. She waved, then went back inside the cabin.
