A proposed plot for early spring of 1876...
The Ladies Society of Kalispell (working name until and if I think of something better) is going to be holding a hospital fundraising event at the hotel. The guest speaker will be Leah Steelgrave.
Those of us involved (Javia, Flip and me) are still working out the details but we are planning to have the event end up with a bit of a melee thanks to Nellie Miggins adding some extra flavouring to the punch. It will probably be held on a Sunday after church.
Here's what we've got planned so far...
Arabella Mudd will be there, courtesy of Matt Wentworth who has already told her that he is going to send an invite.
The Wentworth brothers will be helping to break up the melee (Mike, Sam, and Charlie are visiting Matt). Mike will accidentally rescue Arabella (again)
Flip is going to work an idea he has into the plot as well.
I most of the ladies in town will be there and so if you character is going and you want to add to the plot. Let us know here.
This is a work in progress.
The Dealer had a knife and the dog had a gun and the cat had a shot of Rye.
This plot generated some interest at the old site, but was never launched. I thought I'd re-post just the original idea. Maybe we can find a spot for it as perhaps a Christmas event or something? If not, there's always spring of 1877.

Hmmm. I seem to remember this one, the ladies all got sauced, BUT, that was then, this is now and perhaps this is still a great idea if we want to pursue it.
It is something that should be done in the Fall before the bad weather and in the spring after the thaw. A nice spread between IF there are winter threads as we had last in-game winter.
I've Got Two Guns, One For Each Of You!
Do we think that we could put together something along these lines? It could be a mild winter where folks could get together and celebrate the holiday, or even in late October-November for the fall festival. Just a thought...
Well, the plan for the barn raising was to have what was pretty common right after one of those things, a barn dance complete with food, music, etc.

I think that would work...we could say that it's been planned for some time. Also, the attack on the Redmond's was unexpected so the barn raising (I assume) is something that has been organised quickly and probably wouldn't affect the event at the hotel.
Another thing, there would be some people in town who would attend both (unless they are on the same night). Most towns back then would have some sort of major event at least once a month.
I've Got Two Guns, One For Each Of You!
The barn raising would be the perfect time to have a dance and feed. That's for sure.
An event at the hotel could follow as the barn needs to get raised quickly. Though I've no idea about the event at the hotel, what it could be. Up to you Julie.

Maybe it could be a charity bazaar and ball. I know that these were common back then. There were booths selling various things plus dancing. Some of these things also had hampers (picnic baskets) of food that people could bid on.

That's a grand idea maybe in conjunction with the "annual" Harvest Ball, or on its own.
We do need 'site-wide' threads...

With Christmas and New Year's upon us, perhaps we should revisit this discussion after these holidays are over. Fewer distractions...
