The Smith Gun Maker and Shop building is a wooden building fifty feet deep and twenty-five across. The front of the shop is a standard setup of sales counter and pegs holding a variety of guns on the wall behind. A passage to the back reveals his machine shop with miniature steam engine for powered tools. A stove and pair of kettles are always on hand for tea. Upstairs, modest living quarters overlook the peaceful streets of Kalispell, with a genuine hot-water bath in the bathroom, thanks to a tank of water on the roof and the hot air exhaust of the steam engine warming it up.
