Address me as Hon. Hiram Priest, esq.
"And why would these so called politicians want such an evil and dangerous man still roamin' about? They usually do things for a reason, these here politicians of yers."
She glanced at Messalina and then back to Priest.
"I don't believe ya," was her assessment.
Hiram Priest shook his head slowly, sadly. And such a pretty girl.
"I'm just telling you, that's all. But I'll give you some more advice, not that you'll take it. Watch out if ever you see his neck turn scarlet red. I learned that that's a sign that he's about to explode in anger, a murderous anger. I saw it many times during his trial. I saw it just before he lunged at his defense attorney, damned near strangled him until the deputies pounced on him. And I saw it when, after I sentence him, he hollered at me, again with deputies holding him back. He yelled, "I'm going to kill you Hiram Priest. So help God, I'll kill you!"
The wily old man stuck some chaw in his cheek and smiled.
"Not if I can stop him," he concluded.
ooc: We will have to assume Messalina went about other kitchen business now as she belongs to Javia.

"I highly doubt I will be looking at his neck, he is just another customer to me. But he seemed very nice," Caroline retorted.
The wily old man stuck some chaw in his cheek and smiled.
"Not if I can stop him," he concluded.
"Well fine and dandy, keep it it between the two of you then. Don't involve us. If you two gotta shoot it out do it in the back alley or somethin', not inside the Stardust," Caroline pointed out quite seriously.

"Murrell does as he pleases. You'll find that out." Priest looked her up and down. "You may think you're a pretty tough gal. But let me tell you...," he arose from his chair. "...you ain't no match for him. Stay clear of him if you know what's good for you."
After delivering his advice .. more of a challenge... he walked back into the saloon.
Caroline warned him that if there was going to be violence between him and this newcomer, Murrell, just keep it out of the saloon. If two menfolk wanted to kill each other, that was their affair but the saloon was her world.

"My job is to mingle with the customers, you of all people, should know that. I intend on doin' my job. Fortner wants it that way," Caroline glared at the man defiantly. She hated him, she didn't really know this Murrell. But, she wasn't a fool, she would be a bit more wary in any future dealings with the newcomer, just in case this old bastard was telling the truth.
After delivering his advice .. more of a challenge... he walked back into the saloon.

OOC: This thread is now wrapped up.
However, this is not the end of this storyline, not by far. During winter, the situation given Murrell and Caroline will heat up and then suddenly explode in violence.
But that is for another thread! Stay tuned...
