She led the way in and upon entering the dining room she spied Leah with Doctor Danforth, a pleasant sight indeed. "My daughter is in town, and with the Doctor, I should introduce you.

Looking at the two people, Elinor had mention, Sarah for a moment thought that they looked like an odd couple. She knew from their conversations on the stage, that Elinor's daughter was in her early twenties. The doctor, on the other would be around her age or maybe slightly older. He seemed a little bit out of place in the elegant dining room of the hotel.

Judging by the look on the daughter's face, Sarah got the impression that Elinor's appearance was unexpected. Not wanting to be around for what might be an awkward situation, Sarah decided that this would be a good time to find a room. She turned to Elinor, "If you will excuse me for a minutes, I will go and see if there are any rooms available. I can join you after you've had time to say hello to your daughter and her companion."

Elinor seems surprised by Sarah's choice to see about a room before meeting Leah. Of course she had no idea what the reception might be like, anywhere from warm to ice cold, she could never be sure.

"Mother, welcome back." Leah greeting, not rising. "You know Doctor Danforth. He and I were discussing the future of Kalispell over dinner. Would you care to join us, or, were you dining with your friend?"

"My friend, Sarah Thornton-Carlton of San Francisco is here to visit Lost Lake Ranch and her relations. We'll, yes we'll be dining together. I thought I would just say hello." Elinor said.

"I have the suite, but surely you are welcome to it, I can get another room for the night." Leah offered.

There was something wrong here, some facade that Leah was putting up for the benefit of the Doctor. "No, no that won't be necessary I can certainly get myself a room without putting you out." She smiled. "Well, I should do that so Missus Thornton-Carlton and I can enjoy dinner."

"Of course Mother, I'm glad you're back, and that the trip was without incident." Leah said. Elinor turned and walked toward the reception desk. Leah turned back to Jonah. "Her being home will allow us a bit more freedom without the pressure for me to return to the Evergreen."
