"Every town needs a newspaper."
Phin looked over to Sarah Thornton-Carlton, a woman's assurance right then would be far more than his, though he was more than willing to give them. He had taken a real liking to this young woman for whatever reason, and if there was anything he could do for her, within reason of course, he would gladly do it.
Phin had not had the pleasure of having a daughter, but he did have a brother, Logan, whom he had not seen since the boy left Omaha the year Phin's wife Elizabeth passed. In fact, he and "Beth" had been trying for a child, but that was not to be.

Sarah smiled, "I'm sure we can find the items you need and anything else that you might think of."
She looked over in the direction of the storeroom was located and nodded, "Might I suggest, that we take a look at what's in the storeroom and start cleaning what we can. Phin and Tommy can take care of the heavier things later today. We should also try to see if we can find a bed so that Miss Nevada will have a place to rest tonight. The other furniture we can leave until tomorrow."

"Thank ya, Miz Sarah." Tully smiled shyly, a red tint coming to her cheeks. She wasn't accustomed to such generosity...heck, she avoided interacting with other people, so there was no opportunity for anyone to be kind to her. And, if she ran into someone, like Miz Clara, or Bridget, who wanted to help, she wasn't really sure how to accept it.
"Just a couple'a blankets'll do," she muttered, not wanting to cause a fuss, to make them think she was too demanding or ungrateful. "An' my things are...close. Not much, reckon we c'n look at th' room, start gettin' it clean." Then she actually grinned widely. "Can't be no worse than under th' porch at th' gunsmiths!"
"Every town needs a newspaper."
Phin smiled at not only Saraha's response, but at the innocence of the young lady they were out to help Of course having a place that she might call her own was in fact, far better than spending the night under the porch at the gunsmith's shop. This caused him to wonder whatever happened to Mister Roland Smith, not that it mattered, but he was most interesting as well as inventive.
"Having a place will be warmer come this winter, and a bed to sleep in, in and that of itself will be far and away better than the cold hard ground. And, what's more, no one will run you off either."
