"Hey, just because I know about 'em don't mean I know about 'em, you know?" he countered.
Actually that made no sense at all but even so Caroline knew what he was trying to say.
"Fair enough, you got a point. I know a lot of things I have never ever done," Caroline shrugged, "Or even saw done."
Brendan did not like the whole idea of welts on a person, there she agreed completely, "I know and to think, some fools pay for it to happen. Guess goes ta show ya, the world has all kinds of folk in it."
She now brought up a childhood memory, one that could have ended very badly but she was wise enough not to fall for it.
"If I'd been there, I would'a knocked the living daylights outta him. Or tried, anyway," he declared.
"I know you woulda, but you'd have had to beat my pa to it," she grinned.
"I change my clothes plenty, thanks a lot. Mrs. Wigfall's real good about gettin' my laundry. Guess she knows that's the only way she can get my clothes off me." He smirked a little and motioned to himself. "But you can take my clothes off whenever you want, Miss Mundee."
"Maybe I should take you up on that? It's not I will see anything I haven't already seen before ya know. But........I gotta admit I do enjoy that view alright," she pointed out.
