They made love then, hardly for the first time, Caroline was jaded enough to know it wasn't real love though, more like pure lust. Theirs was a relationship that, while sincere enough, was more friendship than old fashioned romance. She didn't want a marriage, he had fully agreed. But it was more than enough to keep them both content. And as for the worry of unwanted consequences to their sexual trysts, well she couldn't have children so that would never happen.
