"No trouble at all," he assured her. He considered simply inviting her to his place but remembered how Westerners could view it. Bringing an unmarried woman into his home without a chaperone would be seen as improper and he definitely didn't want to cause her any trouble by starting a scandle. A part of him suspected it wouldn't matter much to her but he rather not causae her more trouble with the local lowlives.
"How about we meet at the Lickskillet diner in about half an hour," he suggested, figuring a public place would protect both their honour. "We can enjoy something to eat while I show you pictures of my wife and sumi-e drawings."
