"Well now, the finances for this are what investing is all about. It is what you tell the investors: we need to buy wagons and the teams to pull them. The signed contracts from Guyer and Alkders are proof of that need. First, we need to know what the cost will be. And then go from there." He explained. "Make sense?"

"Yes, sir, I believe it does," Addy replied, starting to mull things over, and there was a lot to mull!  "New wagons..."  Well, they did have the advantage of being new and not having existing wear, and were easier to find, but then, they were more expensive.  It was something to look into.

As for teams...

"Might could ask Mr. McVey ta put an ad in his paper fer what I need.  An' I do got some idea what things oughta cost.  Leastways what I know I'd pay or not fer wagons an' horses."  She glanced toward the door as the others came in.

"Good, about time you got here, we've been waiting for you, do pull up a chair and join in." The physician greeted with a wide smile across his weathered face. "And you ladies, looking beautiful as always."

"Duty held us back some," Jonah explained as he held a chair for Leah and then Angie, "but we are glad to be here now, and looking forward to pie!"

"Now we can get down to some serious business and help this woman get going here!" Elinor stated, grinning as she accepted the chair Josia was holding for her. As she sat down, he pushed it in gently, just a bit.

"Good luck with that," Addy quipped, shaking her head.  "Gotta make this old muleskinner understand all this!"  Well, she was starting to catch on.

"Well ,now, this is going to be a real learning experience for me." Angie said as she sat down. "I mean I have a little knowledge of the process, but to be in on the ground floor of this endeavor, it is exciting, for me at least."

"Glad I'm not alone in this," Addy commented with a grin.  "Kinda gettin' ta understand some, just hadn't yet thought on all th' aspects, so if nothin' else, that's good!"

"Kalispell is certainly growing," Jonah observed, "and we're happy to help new businesses get going.  Besides, the hospital is going to need freight services, so you can help us out, too."

At that moment, the waitress came over to take their orders, and Weedy dashed in, scooting into a chair beside Addy.

"Ah! The man of the hour!" Josia quipped. "Good that we are all here and ready to make this happen."

"Yes, it is. No,w Addy, not to worry, what we are about to do is set up a business that accepts money for a portion of the profits. They would be paid out regularly and in small payments." Leah said with a smile. "Now, my thought was to have you also invest some of your profits in other businesses that both my mother and I are invested in. It does not take much to begin to get residual payments started.

"Residual means those same small returns on your investments that show up in yur bank account regularly," Elinor stated. "First order of business is setting up your business, and that means the name, like say Chappel and Son Freight Lines. Something along those lines."

And in that moment, they were underway with the business at hand, building Addy's business to welcome investors and clients. Both current and new.
