1870: Birth of first son, Julius in Cheshire, England
1871: Move to Canada, birth of second son Robert in London, Ontario
1873: Ashby working on engineering projects around British Columbia, settles family across the border in nearest civilised town, Kalispell, Montana
November 1874: Major Ashby killed in accident constructing a bridge near Baynes Lake, B.C.
July 1875: Robert and Julius fall ill neither survive. Felicity cannot bear to be parted from her dear little boys, even in death, and remains in Kalispell but remains in deep mourning and hardly ever leaves the large house acquired by her husband. She is tended to by her old Irish cook, Mrs Kilpatrick and a locally hired maid-of-all-work Herschelina Colquitt.
