Born in 1827 in Barre, Vermont as Stephen Johnston Boyd

1841 Store Clerk in Montpelier drug store

1842 Sent to the County Farm for financial peculation

Next appears in the records in 1857 as an Arthur Prescott, indicted for 'peculiar behavior' in the town of Dearborn, Michigan, committed to the lunatic asylum 

1863 A Terrence Boyd enlists as a surgeon's mate during the Civil War, cited for bravery collecting and treating the wounded under fire at the battle of Chickamauga

1875 Opens a pharmacy in downtown San Francisco. He is noted for his quiet friendly service and interest in helping the Chinese community of the city, whom most white people snub. Suddenly, to the distress of his many admiring customers, Dr Mahony closes up shop and disappears.

January 1877 William C. Boyd, Druggist, opens a small store in Kalispell, Montana Territory, preparing and selling over-the-counter medicines.
