1846 - 1861
The third child of five born to Josiah, a coal miner and his wife Grace Hardy. Her mother dies when she is 13 and to help with the family finances, she takes on a job as a seamstress for a local dressmaker.
After almost two years, the dressmaker is given a contract to supply costumes to a local theater, which introduces Evelyn to the world of acting. Seeing that she has potential to become one of the greats, she is employed by the theater owner as an extra in various plays.
1862 - August 1876
Over the years, Evelyn climbs the ladder to eventually become the leading actress in The Excelsior Theater Company (which she ends up becoming the owner of), touring around various towns and cities. The company ends up in Helena, Montana where they are approach by Ben Simons to perform at his theater in Kalispell. Evelyn has no choice but to accept as she owes Ben a debt.
